Consulting Division
Caribbean Greensafe Consulting is a full service consulting division that supports the sustainable development of your project, whether it is a single family home, multi unit community or commercial project. With LEED Acreddited Professionals (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - LEED AP) and certifications through the NHAB. We can work with you or your Architect and Engineer from the inception, through the life cycle of your project to ensure it is performing at its best. If you are considering such an endeavor, let us consult with you to maximize the potential of your property, no matter what the size.
It should be noted that "GREEN" is not only for new constrcution. Caribbean Greensafe also offers numerous innovative systems and has qualified energy raters certified through the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSCE) that can assist you in determining what is necessary to improve the efficiency and performance of your existing building.

With the incorporation of sophisticated equipment, we will be able to evaluate the actual performance and energy efficiency of your existing home or business and subsequently rectify conditions that may be negatively impacting your current utility cost, health and maintenance. For persons in the process of building your new home, we can also perform a projected rating that will simulate the energy effeciency of that specific home before it is built based upon the design and materials that will be incorporated. Measures can then be taken in the design stage to maximize the components that will produce the most effecient results.
Measures can also be taken to improve the IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) within your home. One of the most common occurrences in homes and structures that are not ‘tight’ other than increased utility cost is the growth of mold and mildew. This not only diminishes the quality of air which you breathe, but also increases the probability of respiratory infection. As noted in the mission statement of the American Lung Association:
“The American Lung Association’s mission is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Because lung health begins at home, the American Lung Association Health House program’s mission is to improve the way homes are built, renovated and maintained”.
Caribbean Greensafe has fully adopted this mission as part of its overall philosophy.
Another major concern is Radon. Radon is a radioactive gas. It comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Radon is a cancer-causing natural radioactive gas that you can’t see, smell or taste. Its presence in your home can pose a danger to your family's health. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. Please see ‘consulting’ menu for more details.
Caribbean Greensafe will provide evaluation and mediation on any existing structure concerning the threat of either of these possibilities and many more.
With a focus on Health and efficiency, it is one of our goals to ensure that your home or office is performing at its best, which translates to lower utility bills and an improved indoor environment for you and your family.
Please explore the Consulting menu to view in more detail the services we offer.
While the materials incorporated in the construction are a major contributor to the IAQ (Indoor Air Quality), it should also be noted that IAQ is not solely dependant on home construction techniques and materials, and therefore Caribbean Greensafe gives no assurances that the occupant will feel better or have improved health. The household management practices and lifestyle of the occupant are also major contributors to the IAQ. The presence of Tobacco smoke, the frequency of changing the air filter and the types of air filter, ventilating equipment and sanitary conditions along with other factors also have a direct impact on the quality of the air within the structure, and must be managed to produce the overall benefits of the construction techniques and materials incorporated.
