About the Founder
Kymenski Kemp has been directly involved in the Architectural and Construction industry for the past 20 years having both practical and formal training. Beginning as an Architectural assistant shortly after graduating from high school in Nassau, he assisted many Bahamian Architects in the development of various projects throughout the Bahamas while completing a degree in Architecture from the College of the Bahamas. With a desire to broaden his knowledge he went abroad and continued his education receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tuskegee University and a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University where much of his focus was concentrated on improving construction productivity and the impact of incorporating sustainable components into the overall Architectural design.
Subsequent to completing his graduate degree, Kymenski served as Project Manager for a private Florida based custom builder and then as a Sr. Project Manager and Land Development Project Manager for one of the largest production builders in America, closing just over 51,000 homes in 2005. He has been directly involved with numerous development projects and gated communities throughout South Florida which have accounted for over 4,000 homes, and valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars in development cost.
Prior to forming Caribbean Greensafe, Kymenski served as the Development Manager for a very successful Affordable Land Trust in the State of Florida. His responsibilities included the acquisitions, feasibility analysis, and overall management of the Development Division which its primary consideration is the development of affordable housing, incorporating many state of the art building practices and green building strategies to assist in the overall affordability of the home to the end buyer. He has continued his formal training as well, having completed numerous certifications, courses and training events throughout the United States with Organizations such as The Florida Housing Coalition and Neighborworks America, all focused on the development and sustainability of affordable housing. He is a certified LEED AP ( Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) through the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), a Certified Green Professional (CGP), through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and a certified Energy Rater, through the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC).
Kymenski founded Caribbean Greensafe Ltd. with the intention to provide the Bahamian and Caribbean construction industry a green resource to directly supply and consult with for the improvement and incorporation of green building strategies that enhance the overall environmental quality and efficiency of the structure, both residential and commercial. Caribbean Greensafe Ltd. Offers the latest advancements in building technology, allowing Bahamians and Non Bahamians alike to now build homes and offices anywhere in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the Caribbean that are twice as efficient to own and operate and provide increased health benefits when compared to their conventional counter parts.
